Miss Ingham, Mrs Cross, Mrs Jones and Mrs Reinman welcome you all to Year 2!
Miss Ingham absolutely loves history, English and phonics. Mrs Cross is a full time Teaching Assistant in Silver Birch and she loves supporting the children with their reading and phonics. They are joined by Mrs Reinman and Mrs Jones who job share across the week. We think that we all make a very good team!

In Silver Birch Class we love learning and have lots of fantastic topics and texts to learn throughout the year! Our long term plan is attached below:
Reading
In Silver Birch Class we recognise the importance of reading with the children. This will not only support their phonics but their writing and other subjects too. The children are all assigned an online E-Book which they would have read three times the previous week with an adult. Please contact Miss Ingham if you are having difficulties logging on. Each of the in school reading sessions focusses on a different aspect of reading; decoding, prosody and comprehension. We then urge you to read this book daily throughout the week to build your child’s reading fluency and confidence.
Home Learning
In Year 2 the children are expected to continue their learning at home. This includes practising spellings which are sent home weekly in the children’s home learning books and daily reading with an adult at home.
