As we reach the end of another busy and joyful term, I want to take a moment to reflect on all that we’ve achieved together and share some exciting news about what lies ahead.
Firstly, I’m thrilled to announce that we have received the final go-ahead to join the Eastern Education Group Trust. This marks a significant step forward for our school, as we become part of a wider family of schools who share our core values of putting families and children first. While the day-to-day experience for our pupils will remain the same, we now have access to a broader network of experts and resources, and we’re equally excited to share our own expertise with others. Watch this space for opportunities to involve our wonderful community in this new chapter!
In even more exciting news, we’ve also been approved to open a brand-new SEND Unit, which will welcome up to 35 children with additional needs. This is a huge milestone for our school, and we are incredibly proud to be able to offer a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive. Our pupils are already buzzing with excitement about the new friends they’ll make and the diversity this will bring to our school family.
You may have noticed some building work taking place recently – this is all part of making our school an even better environment. Key Stage 2 are eagerly awaiting classroom doors, and Years 5 and 6 are particularly excited about finally having their own toilets – a small change that will make a big difference!
Last night saw the return of our much-loved Stanton’s Got Talent, and what a phenomenal evening it was! Every single child who took to the stage showed such courage and confidence – we couldn’t be prouder. The votes were incredibly close, but I’m delighted to announce the winners:
🥇 First Place – A stunning performance of Swan Lake
🥈 Runners-Up – A dynamic duo performing Roar by Katy Perry
🎹 Special Mention – Our youngest contestants with a beautiful rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star on piano and vocals
All winners received fabulous prizes from the Co-op, and every contestant was treated to a well-earned chocolate bar. A huge thank you to the PTA for providing refreshments, to the parents who acted as roadies, and to our dedicated staff for staying to support.
We’ve also continued to enhance our outdoor space with the help of local businesses – our pupils are now enjoying two trampolines, a sandpit, a slide, a mud kitchen, and even more tyres for lunchtime fun!
By the time you read this, we will have celebrated our annual Summer Fête and said a fond farewell to our Year 6 leavers, who are heading off to high school in September. Their outstanding SATs results are a testament to their hard work and resilience – but more importantly, they leave us as kind, confident, and well-rounded individuals. We couldn’t be prouder.
As we head into the summer break, I wish all our families a safe, restful, and happy holiday – whether you’re travelling or enjoying time at home. We look forward to welcoming you back in September for another exciting year of learning, growth, and new beginnings.
Warmest wishes,
Liz Bonnelykke
